APX AGM 2022

The APX ( Association of Past Xavierites ) AGM was held on 9 th July. The events of the past one year were discussed & accounts for the year gone by were presented & passed. Since only 5 members filled forms for the five posts ( office bearers ) there was no election. Rev Fr Francis Macwan SJ was introduced as the new Chairman of APX. His words were inspirational and encouraging.

The new Principal Ms Jasmine Jacob & Headmistress in charge of the primary section Ms Laxmi Iyer were present & encouraged and appreciated the APX & its constant support towards the Alma Mater. The roadmap for the year ahead was charted and all stakeholders & collaborators together pledged to make it a fulfilling & active year - Team APX

APX Navratri Dusshera program

Association of Past Xavierites ( APX ) co-hosted the St Xavier’s High School Loyola Hall Ahmedabad annual Navratri Garba eve on the school grounds on Tues 8 th Oct. This was a well attended Navratri/Dusshera program, over 6000 people enjoyed this cultural revelry and this included students, staff, management, alumni/ae and parents. The Provincial for Gujarat Province was also present along with several other dignitaries from all walks of life.

APX wishes everyone on this occasion.

Many Jesuit institutes across Gujarat hosted Garba on their premises, well supported by alumni and benefactors.

Meeting Shri Anurag Thakur, MOS Finance, GOI

Meeting with Shri Anurag Thakur, minister of state for finance, Govt of India. Earlier in the day at gift city and later in the night the minister showcased his love and skill for sports in a sports arena in the city. He also had other official programs in the day. Seen in the pics are the former Chief Secretary of Gujarat Shri Sudhir Mankad ( now chairman GIFT city ) and Harsh Sanghvi ( MLA form Surat and youth icon ) and of course honourable CM Shri Vijaybhai Rupani.

Association of Past Xavierites ( APX ) Teachers Day 2019

Teacher’s day celebrations at St Xavier’s High School Loyola Hall. Retiring teachers were felicitated. Students had prepared a program for the teachers. Alumni/ae was present in a large number though it was a working day. Association of Past Xavierites ( APX ) hosted the teachers ( including non teaching staff ) for a lunch after the program. An apt way to celebrate the teacher’s day cohesively and inclusively .

APX Football and Abolish Plastic Pledge (JAAG)

APX (Association of Past Xavierites , St Xavier’s High School Loyola Hall) played against the school team in the annual football match today morning on the school grounds. Witnessed by the students , management , staff and alumni the ‘young’ alumni team with an average age of 40 plus ( including a couple of them over 50 ) prevailed over the school team 1/0. The game consisted of two halves , 25 minutes each. This is a bonding exercise between the past and present , the bridge to a better today for a brighter tomorrow.

Kolhapur Flood Relief | Jesuit Alumni Associations collaborate

Greetings one n all,

It gives me immense pleasure to update you on the latest development on account of the flood situation n Kolhapur & adjoining cities.

St. Xavier’s High School, Kolhapur with its Alumni recognised as “XESAKOP” (St. Xavier’s Ex-Students Association-Kolhapur) was approached by St. Vincent’s High School, Alumni VOBA that’s the Vincentian Old Boys Association-Pune was keen to assist in any which way, We were given to understand by Mr. Praveen Solanki, Treasure of XESAKOP that they were in need of essential commodities for which a list was shared with us, VOBA was very keen in helping XESAKOP as it comes under the preview of the Pune Province and sanctioned an amount of Rs. 10,000/- for purchases towards their requirements

The appeal was also shared amongst all Vincentians and members of society and amongst our near and dear ones, we were blessed as many came forward with their contribution in kind.

Badminton legends meet APX

Badminton legends : On Left is Anup Shridhar ( Arjuna award winner 2008 ) and on the right is Vijay Lancy, former champion and now CEO of the Prakash Padukone badminton academy. He last week won the masters championships.

Met just now on the Loyola grounds and Fr Charles ( Principal of St Xavier’s Loyola Hall Ahmd , Chairman APX ) is keen on a badminton academy in the school grounds

Both the badminton players are connected with the Jesuit alumni. Vijay Lancy is a parent ( St Joseph ) and Anup is alumni of St Joseph ‘s ,B’lore.

Being Responsible Workshop for Jesuit Education Board of Bombay Province

The Jesuit Education Board has Administrators and Principals from Jesuit Schools in Bombay Province. The Board meets twice a year and has extensive discussions on various topics.

Fr Evarist Newnes, the Manager of St Michaels Marathi medium and the St Michaels English medium School at Manickpur, had attended the JAAI West Zone Congress held at Kolhapur on 10-12 May 2019. The Congress was conducted by Xesakop (St Xavier’s Ex-Students Association). He felt that the workshop conducted during the Congress should be presented to the Jesuit Education Board. This would also help increase awareness of JAAI West Zone Activities with the School Representatives.

The Being Responsible Workshop was held on 17 Aug 19 at St Mary’s High School ICSE, Mazgaon. There were close to 45 participants. The Jesuit Board, along with Fr Francis Swamy , Principal made very good arrangements and were good hosts.

JAAB Independence Day Alumni Football 2019

In a thrilling JAAB Independence Day Football tournament 2019, St. Xaviers School Alumni Fort, Mumbai narrowly beat Holy Family Alumni Association B 2-1 in sudden death to lift the JAAB William Neelankavil rolling trophy 2019.

The matches were hosted by St. Stanislaus Ex-students Association (SSESA) at the schools AstroTurf grounds to celebrate our Independence Day.

Twelve teams from the Jesuit Bombay Province came together for this annual football tournament for the 8th year. The teams played their round-robin matches with great enthusiasm and skill. While there was great fellowship between players off the field, the serious intent of winning was never in doubt on the field.

In the first semifinal, Holy Family Alumni Association B narrowly beat St. Xaviers School Alumni B 3-2 in a thrilling match. In the second semifinal St. Xaviers School Alumni A beat St. Mary's ICSE Alumni B 3-1.

Independence Day Celebrations at St.Xavier’s High School Loyola Hall

Independence Day Celebrations at St.Xavier’s High School Loyola Hall Ahmedabad. Students ,staff, management , alumni, parents and benefactors were present for the Flag Hoisting. A patriotic song competition followed this.
