The Association of Past Xavierites (APX) , the alumni association of St.Xaviers High School Loyola Hall is celebrating its 25 years. Many programs are planned for this year. the celebrations started on Saturday 9th February, with a JAYKAR BHOJAK musical evening at 7.30 pm on the school grounds. Almost 1200 people enjoyed this musical evening, as this famous singer enthralled all with his songs, Gujarati songs, Bollywood songs and also songs rendered by school students and teachers as well as a masterpiece by APX members.
The founding members of this erstwhile association were remembered and the involvement of the APX was there for all to see, also encouraged by the words of the Provincial of the Jesuits for Gujarat Province Fr. Jose Changanachery SJ, and the Home Secretary Shri Manoj Antani IPS, also an alumnus of this Institute, these two being the main guests for the evening. Also present were many prominent personalities of the city, most of them alumnus of this school. The founding chairman of APX and the then Principal Rev. Fr. O. Coutinho SJ was honored and his presence was inspiring to all present. The current management Rev.Fr. Durai SJ ( Principal and Chairman of APX and the Province Coordinator for Gujarat Province ) and Rev.Fr.Raj SJ ( Administrator of the school) were appreciated, with their support APX has flourished and is growing and reaching out to more people and avenues. The current committee are also giving their best and these efforts are also instrumental in getting APX to where it is today.
