SSESA AGM 2011

The 25th SSESA AGM was held on 31-July 2011 in the School Museum. The AGM was well attended with active participation from all present. The overwhelming feeling of the General Body was the urgent need to change the age profile of not only the Managing Committee but also those who attend the AGM. There was an urgent need to attract young alumni.

TEXAS AGM

TEXAS ( The Ex Xavierites Alumni Association of Surat, Gujarat )recently had its AGM on 26th July. It was a well attended meeting, and the new office bearers for the next tenure were elected, discussions and plans for the coming months were made.

Today, the TEXAS group is attending a Prayer meeting at the school campus to participate in the Feast of St.Ignatius. This is a very active Alumni Association in the Gujarat Province and the Chairman is Rev. Fr. Charles and the President is Sanat Relia, who is also the Vice president of JAAG, the Jesuit Alumni Associations of Gujarat. All the Jesuit Alumni Associations in the Gujarat province come under the JAAG umbrella. The ex-officio Chairman is Fr. Durai, who is also the Province Coordinator of Gujarat.

APX alumni v school cricket

The APX (Association of Past Xavierites), the alumni association of the St. Xavier's High School Loyola Hall Ahmedabad) played a tennis ball cricket match on the school grounds today versus the school cricket team. The past was once again replayed as the alumni recollected their playing days and posted a mammoth total whilst the young school team was happy to watch the yesteryear stars descend on the school ground and play once again to a full house. Refreshments were served after the match.

St. Xavier's College (Autonomous) Mumbai awarded the College of Excellence (CE) by the University Grants Commission

St. Xavier's College (Autonomous) Mumbai has been awarded the College of Excellence (CE) by the University Grants Commission for the period April 2014 to March 2019.

Excellence of an academic institution involves reaching outstanding levels of performance in teaching, research and related academic pursuits and attaining peerless position in the areas offered for study and research. Excellence was achieved in stages through a process of continuous improvement in content and quality of the pursuits. A dedicated academic community and adequate infras tructural facilities are essential ingredients of excellence. The College of Excellence status was awarded based on a score of more than 3.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) awarded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.

TEXAS sponsors Inter-class girls cricket tournament

Texas corrobrated with School Management &  Sponsored  Interclass Girls cricket tournament whose final concluded today between 5thD vs 6th D & other Final between 7th B & 8th D. A exciting match with enthusiastic game spirit by Girls. Final 6th D & 8th B won the championship where overall 16 teams from std 5 to 8 std Girls participated. Congratulations to winning team & All the Best runners up team.

VOBA helps build Ignatian Year Housing Project

This is to take you through one of the most important and meaningful projects.

The Ignatian Year Housing Project was initiated by Fr. Agnelo Mascarenhas SJ, Provincial of Pune Jesuit Province and the Task being given to Fr. Francis Patekar SJ, Principal, St. Vincent’s High School & Junior College, Ex-Officio VOBA & PCA-Pune Province, to reach out to the Vincentians through its Alumni, to generate funds, for building homes for 10 Poor, needy & deserving families in two hamlets (Bhosarmal & Malwadi) of Parner Taluka, Ahmednagar District, at a cost of Rs. 2 lakhs per home, totaling Rupees 20 Lakhs.

6th APX meeting 2021-22

The 6th APX meeting for the year 2021-22 was held on Friday, May 20th, 2022. We had a good attendance and especially after a tough past two years was like a family reunion.

The new manager/superior Fr Francis Mcwan SJ was welcomed. The local that is APX , province that is JAAG , zonal that is JAAI West Zone, JAAI & WUJA activities and upcoming programs were discussed and suggestions taken and addressed. The activities of the past few months were discussed and appreciated.

Jesuits of Bombay Province

On the occasion of the visit of the Jesuit Superior General Fr Artuo Sosa to the Jesuit Bombay Province a Magis Conclave followed by dinner was held on 3rd March 2019 at St. Stanislaus High School, Bandra in Mumbai India.

Several Schools and Colleges in the Bombay Jesuit Province are run by the Fathers and Brothers of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), a religious congregation internationally known for their educational work.

APX Table Tennis Carnival

With Covid receding into the background and the pandemic in the rear view mirror, the APX Table Tennis Carnival was held on June 26, 2022 at the St. Xavier's Loyola TT Academy.

The tournament was a fulfilling one with many members participating and cheering along with refreshments making it an energetic & inspiring atmosphere.

Appreciation and gratitude for the tournament organisers & conductors who made the flow easy.

The game was the ultimate WINNER. Many Congratulations to the Medal Winners and all participants.

APX Blood Donation Drive

The annual APX (Association of Past Xavierites) blood donation drive (with Red Cross as the Blood Bank partner) was held at the St Xavier's High School Loyola Hall Ahmedabad on Saturday 9th July 2022.

A large number of people came by for this noble cause. This is a must do in the APX calendar. Incidentally we were partners in 8 vaccine drives in the past year. We are committed for such causes - Team APX
